The synthesis and properties of different types of sydnonimine salts have been investigated. The stability of these salts containing different types of acid components has been examined, and their behaviour towards bases and acids and on catalytic hydrogenation is described. The UV.- and NMR.-spectra of a number of these compounds are given and discussed.
The invention relates to urea and amido compounds of the formula ##STR1## which have a powerful action on tumors, and to processes for their preparation and pharmaceutical preparations containing such compounds.

Using cyanoaceticacid as a maskedelectrophile, a new cyanomethylation reaction of amines and carboxylicacids was developed, producing a variety of α‐aminonitriles and cyanomethyl esters with good yields and excellent functionality tolerance. (a) A modified synthesis of arylamino-acetonitriles and diaryl-aminoacetonitriles is described. In some cases we observed instead of the expected nitriles cristalline N,N′-methylene-bis-arylamines. These are ot byproducts, but intermediates of the nitril formation.
