A versatile method for the synthesis of fluorocarbonyl hydrazines by reaction of xenon difluoride and isocyanates is described together with the preparation of tetrakis(trifluoromethyl) hydrazine from perfluoroazapropene. Methoxycarbonyl substituted hydrazines could be obtained by reaction of fluorocarbonyl hydrazines and methanol.
