Cr(CO)4[P(C6H5)2]2NH (III) was lithiated at the nitrogen atom. The resulting product reacts in situ with ClP(C6H5)2 to yield Cr(CO)4[P(C6H5)2]2 NP(C6H5)2 (V), in which the new ligand, N[P(C6H5)2]3(VI), is synthesized on the metal. The free ligand VI was also prepared by lithiation of [(C6H5)2P]2NH (I) with n-butyllithium, followed by the reaction with ClP(C6H5)2.
