The present invention provides a novel class of dithiocarbamate-metal complexes and their uses in medicine. Also provided by the invention are combinations and pharmaceutical compositions, comprising a dithiocarbamate (or thiuram disulphide) such as disulfiram and cyclodextrin, with a source of a heavy metal. Surprisingly, the inventors found a synergistic potentiation of the anti-tumor effect, when a dithiocarbamate/heavy metal mixture was combined with a cyclodextrin. The compounds and combination of the invention are particularly useful in the treatment of tumor diseases, and other disorders. Provided are the compounds, combination, pharmaceutical compositions and kits, as well as methods for the preparation of the combinations of the invention.
The present disclosure provides a redox initiator system for initiating polymerization comprising an oxidizing agent, a photolabile reducing agent derived from a barbiturate, and a transition metal complex that participates in a redox cycle. On exposure to actinic radiation, such as UV, the photolabile compound photolyzes, releasing the reducing agent and initiating the redox-initiated polymerization.

An efficient access to C3-functionalised 3-thiooxindoles has been accomplished via direct dithiocarbamation of spiro-aziridine oxindoles. Their apoptosis-inducing properties have been investigated.
The invention relates to a process for preparing dithiols derivatized with dithiocarbamic acids, in which the derivatized dithiols are obtained in high yield and purity.
