Me3SiC2F3 and AgF, with elemental tellurium in propionitrile yields solutions of Te(C2F3)2. Oxidations of these solutions with either xenon di- fluoride, elemental chlorine or bromine give the corresponding bis(trifluorovinyl)tellurium dihalides Te(C2F3)2F2, Te(C2F3)2Cl2 and Te(C2F3)2Br2 in moderate yields.
