Copper sees the light of day: [Cu(dap)2Cl] proved to be an excellent photoredoxcatalyst for atom‐transfer radical addition reactions, as well as for allylation reactions (see scheme), providing an attractive alternative to commonly used iridium‐ and ruthenium‐based catalysts.

(TPMA)Br][Br] complexes in ATRA reactions of polybrominated compounds to alkenes in the presence of reducing agent (AIBN) was reported. With the combination of p-methoxybenzene-diazonium tetrafluoroborate with TiCl3 as the initiator, a wide range of halogen atom-transfer radical addition or cyclization reactions could be efficiently implemented in aqueous solution at room temperature.

Halocarbons such as carbon tetrachloride, CCl3Br, CF3CCl3, BrCF2CF2Br, BrCF2CFClBr and CF2Br2, reacted with olefins in the presence of the sulfinatodehalogenation reagent sodium dithionite under mild conditions to give the corresponding adducts. In the case of F113, CFCl2CF2CFCl2 and CF3Cl3, the polyfluoroalkylation product resulted.
