  三有机锡化合物在大气氧的存在下与邻苯二酚在有机溶剂中反应，首先生成顺磁性配合物。ESR和ENDOR光谱显示1 H，19 F，117 Sn和119 Sn分裂。观察到的超细结构证明三有机锡阳离子被邻苯并半醌螯合。作为这些反应的最终产物，可以分离出抗磁性化合物。例如，通过X射线晶体学测定3，5-二叔丁基-1，2-苯二氧基-双（邻-三氟甲基-苯基）甲醇-锡（IV）的结构。单体化合物结晶空间群在P 1与一个10.451，b11.905，c 15.379Å ，α96.42 ，β104.17，γ111.43°，Z =2。五配位锡原子比苯二氧基平面高0.5Å，苯二氧基平面占据一个赤道和一个轴向配位点。第二轴向位置被溶剂甲醇占据。

  The crystal structure of tetrakis[m-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]tin(IV), [Sn(C6H4CF3)4], has been determined. The Mossbauer spectrum of the compound shows a single peak with an isomer shift of 1.20 mm s-1. The molecule is tetrahedral with no short intermolecular contacts. The Sn atom is located at a special position and the four Sn-C bond lengths [2.143 (5) angstrom] are equal by symmetry.
