    The chemical modification of lipase from Thermomyces lanuginosus using dodecyl aldehyde as linker, showed to beneficially improve its catalytic activity. The results reported in this paper, showed an outstanding increase of its activity towards esterification and transesterification reactions, comparing with the native form, being the most pronounced improvement obtained when using the longest alcohol

    Direct condensation of equimolar amounts of long chain carboxylic acids and alcohols could be achieved by using zirconyl chloride as an efficient catalyst. ZrOCl 2 .8H 2 O showed high activity for esterification between primary acids and alcohols; however, it was less active in the combination of branched acid and secondary alcohols to give the corresponding esters.

The present invention further provides a molded body obtainable by molding the curable resin composition and a production method thereof. A curable resin composition for molded bodies, including a thermocurable resin, wherein the curable resin composition for molded bodies includes at least one compound selected from the group consisting a compound having a boiling point of 260° C. or less at one atmospheric pressure, a silicon compound having a polyoxyalkylene chain, a silicon compound having an aryl group, and a silicon compound having a polyoxyalkylene chain and an aryl group.
