(wherein R¹ represents C₁ - C₃ alkyl, benzyl, non-substituted phenyl, or mono-, di-, or tri-substituted phenyl substituted with methyl, isopropyl, methoxy, acetylamino, trifluoromethyl, nitro, cyano, fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine); optically active tetrahydrofurfuryl 2-chloropropionate; and an optically active hydroxyphenoxypropionate represented by the formula [III].
