An iron(II) complex self‐assembles in solution from precursors which are easily synthesized from commercial materials. When used as a catalyst in the H2O2 oxidation of some ω‐phenylalkylammonium salts, this complex shows an unnatural preference for meta over ortho hydroxylation, probably due to steric effects.
intramolecular-amination reaction of phenylalanine-derived palladacycles has been investigated to highlight a facile carbonate-assisted N–H activation before the C–N bond formation. A major counterion effect led to divergent pathways whereby the SPhos-Pd complexes with iodine, triflate, or trifluoroacetate anions were key intermediates to afford access to (S)-2-indolinecarboxylic acid derivatives.
A New Method for High-Yield Cyclopalladation of Primary and Secondary Amines. Atom-Efficient Open-to-Air Inexpensive Synthesis of Buchwald-Type Precatalysts
A new method for high-yield cyclopalladation of primary and secondary amines involving the corresponding ammonium triflates, instead of the amines generally employed, is reported. The method is applied for the synthesis of Buchwald-type precatalysts [Pd(C,N-C6H4CH2CH(R′)NHR-2)X(phosphine)] that can be easily prepared by reaction of Pd(OAc)2, 1 equiv of the ammonium triflate [PhCH2CH(R′)NH2R]OTf, and
