  The invention relates to the use of at least one agent for screening out light radiation with a wavelength ranging from 370 to 500 nm as an agent for inhibiting the degradation of endogenous carotenoids present in the skin. The invention is useful for treating skin disorders caused by sunlight (e.g., solar urticaria, actinic dermatitis and pigmentation marks).
