studied for their ability to catalyze the hydrolysis of amide bonds in N-acylated α-amino acids, 3-butanamidobutanoic acid (β-amino acid) and its ethyl ester. The activity toward amide bonds is highly untypical of lipases, despite the close mechanistic analogy to amidases which normally catalyze the corresponding reactions. Most CAL-A preparations cleaved amide bonds of various substrates with high enantioselectivity

Compositions and methods for the treatment of fungal infections including compounds containing a chemotaxis receptor ligand moiety and a polyene antifungal agent moiety are disclosed. In particular, compounds containing a polyene antifungal agent and a formyl peptide receptor ligand can be used in the treatment of fungal infections caused by a fungus of the genus Aspergillus or Candida.

The present invention relates to acylamino acid racemase, production and use thereof.
The acylamino acid racemase of the present invention racemizes optically active N-acyl-α-aminocarboxylic acid alone at pH values around the neutral level at a normal temperature under normal pressure in the presence of optically active amino acid; its use in combination with D- or L-aminoacylase enables the production of optically active D- or L-α-amino acid from DL-acyl-α-aminocarboxylic acid at a high level of efficiency.
