    A palladium‐catalyzed carbonylative approach for the direct conversion of (hetero)aryl bromides into their α,α‐bis(trifluoromethyl)carbinols is described, and it employs only stoichiometric amounts of carbon monoxide and trifluoromethyltrimethylsilane.
