Osmium coordination compounds OsE2Cl12, where E is (1), Se (2) or Te (3), and OsS2O2Cl3 (4), as well as a simple osmium compound, OsS4Cl2 (5). were synthesized in halogen-containing non-aqueous solutions. The structures of (1, (2) and (3) were studied by X-ray diffraction, and determination of their magnetic properties, vibrational (IR, Raman) spectra, 35Cl NQR spectra and electronic diffusive reflectance
