Furthermore, the methodology was extended to the synthesis of bio- and drug-derived amines. Detailed mechanistic studies revealed a reaction pathway entailing aldehyde and amido complex formation via an unusual C–N bond cleavage-reformation process, followed by C–O bondcleavage.
A process for preparing polyether polyols by the addition polymerization of alkylene oxide to active hydrogen containing compounds in the presence of the amine catalyst represented by the following formula :

The polyether polyol obtained has a light hue, faint foreign odor and an excellent quality as a material for rigid polyurethane forms.
