    Dramatic variations in the Earth’s main magnetic field during the 20th century
    摘要:
    Analysis of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) 1900-2000 shows that the Earth's main magnetic field has changed dramatically during the 20th century: its dipole moment has decreased by 6.5% since 1900, the strengths of its quadrupole and octupole have increased by 95% and 74%, respectively, four major planetary-scale magnetic anomalies on the Earth's surface have enhanced by 21%-56%, and the magnetic center has shifted 200 km towards the Pacific Ocean. These time-variation features are similar to the behavior before a geomagnetic polarity reversal.

    According to the present, invention, a process for producing an epoxy compound, where an epoxy compound can be selectively produced from olefins with good yield at low cost in a safe manner by a simple operation under mild conditions without using a quaternary ammonium salt or a metal compound, is provided. The present invention relates to a process for producing an epoxy compound, comprising epoxidizing a carbon-carbon double bond of an organic compound having a carbon-carbon double bond by using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant, wherein the epoxidation is carried by out using an organic nitrile compound and an organic amine compound.

    A novel process for producing a polyfunctional epoxy monomer is provided that facilitates separation of an aqueous layer catalyst from a reaction solution and has satisfactory hydrogen peroxide efficiency by reacting an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution with a polyolefin without using an organic solvent and under mild conditions. The process as claimed in the present invention is a process for producing a corresponding epoxy compound by reacting an organic compound having a carbon-carbon double bond with hydrogen peroxide present in an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution to epoxidate the double bond, wherein a tungsten compound and tertiary amine are used as reaction catalysts.
