  Abstract L'acide méthyl‐7‐octadiène‐2,6‐oïque (acide apo‐géranique) est préparé. Sa cyclisation fournit l'acide trans diméthyl‐1,1‐cyclohexanol‐3‐carboxylique‐2 qui est l'hydrate de l'acide apo‐cyclogéranique attendu. Les esters et acides cis‐ et trans‐diméthyl‐cyclohexanol‐3‐carboxylique‐2 sont préparés à partir de la diméthyl‐1,1‐carboxéthyl‐2‐cyclohexanone‐3. L'apo‐cyclogéraniol, l'apo‐cyclocitral et l'acide apocyclogéranique sont préparés sous forme d'isomères purs ou de mélanges d'isomères.

  It has been shown by different methods that of the two 1,1-dimethyl-cyclohexan-3-ol-2-carboxylic acids described in two previous papers the acid m.p. 161° represents the trans and the other one, m.p. 118°, the cis form.   (+)-Strigol is a naturally occurring germination stimulant for the seeds of the parasitic weeds Striga and Orobanche. This paper describes the synthesis of all eight stereoisomers of strigol. The absolute configuration of these stereoisomers has been deduced from their CD-spectra.
