The present invention relates to a method for producing liquid droplets of a desired size on specific surface areas of an element, by submerging the element into a liquid reservoir and withdrawing it with a predetermined velocity. The method allows for directional variation in droplet size within the drop pattern, post fabrication, by control of the velocity by which the element is withdrawn from the liquid.
The present invention further relates to a device, which may be used to submerge/withdraw an element to/from a liquid reservoir.
