    The present invention relates to the preparation of oxovinylionol and its O-protected derivatives of the formula I in which R is hydrogen or an OH protecting group, for example a group Si(R a ) 3 , by reacting a compound of the general formula II in which R has the meanings given above for formula I, i.e. β-vinyl ionol (formula II, R=hydrogen) or an O-protected derivative thereof (formula II, R═OH protecting group) with an oxidant in the presence of at least one transition metal, where the oxidant comprises at least one oxygen-containing compound which is selected from among hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides.

    The invention relates to a corrosion inhibiting composition, comprising at least: A) a carrier of an oily or waxy type; B) active components comprising at least B1) a corrosion-inhibitor of the azole-type; and B2) a co-corrosion-inhibitor, selected from the group consisting of (a) fatty acids having 6-24 carbon atoms, aromatic acids and naphthenic acids, which acids have the free acid form or the salt form; (b) imidazoline derivatives having an C6-24 alkyl moiety; and (c) C6-24 alkylsuccinic anhydride compounds; as well as a mixture of compounds defined under (a), (b) and/or (c); and C) optionally a compound selected from the group consisting of C1) a water repellent; C2) a synthetic ester derived from a C1-10 alcohol with 1-12 hydroxyl groups and C6-24 fatty acids; and C3) a C6-18 alcohol as well as a mixture of compounds defined under C1), C2) and/or C3). Such a composition is suitable for application on elongated objects of steel, covered with a coating of a material having an electrode potential, exceeding the electrode potential of steel or having a rate of corrosion, which is less than the rate of corrosion of steel. Further the invention relates to elongated objects of steel, in particular steel cords treated with a corrosion inhibiting composition according to the invention. Another object of the invention is a process for treating elongated objects of steel with the corrosion inhibiting composition according to the invention. Rubber articles, which contain elongated objects of steel like steel cord, treated with the above-mentioned composition do also fall within the scope of the invention.

    The invention relates to a corrosion inhibiting composition, comprising at least: A) a carrier of an oily or waxy type; B) active components comprising at least B1) a corrosion-inhibitor of the azole-type; and B2) a co-corrosion-inhibitor, selected from the group consisting of (a) fatty acids having 6-24 carbon atoms, aromatic acids and naphthenic acids, which acids have the free acid form or the salt form; (b) imidazoline derivatives having an C6-24 alkyl moiety; and (c) C6-24 alkylsuccinic anhydride compounds; as well as a mixture of compounds defined under (a), (b) and/or (c); and C) optionally a compound selected from the group consisting of C1) a water repellent; C2) a synthetic ester derived from a C1-10 alcohol with 1-12 hydroxyl groups and C6-24 fatty acids; and C3) a C6-18 alcohol as well as a mixture of compounds defined under C1), C2) and/or C3). Such a composition is suitable for application on elongated objects of steel, covered with a coating of a material having an electrode potential, exceeding the electrode potential of steel or having a rate of corrosion, which is less than the rate of corrosion of steel. Further the invention relates to elongated objects of steel, in particular steel cords treated with a corrosion inhibiting composition according to the invention. Another object of the invention is a process for treating elongated objects of steel with the corrosion inhibiting composition according to the invention. Rubber articles, which contain elongated objects of steel like steel cord, treated with the above-mentioned composition do also fall within the scope of the invention.

    In one aspect, the present relates to a fluid catalytic cracking process, comprising the step(s) of: (a) feeding a first hydrocarbon stream 1 comprising a petroleum feedstock and a second hydrocarbon stream 2 comprising an oxygenate to a fluid catalytic cracking process unit (FCCU) 3 for producing one or more hydrocarbon product stream(s) 4 from the first hydrocarbon stream 1 and the second hydrocarbon stream 2. In another aspect, the present invention relates to a reactor system for fluidic catalytic cracking comprising (a) at least one fluidic catalytic cracking process unit (FCCU) 3, wherein the FCCU 3 is a arranged such that a first hydrocarbon stream 1 comprising a petroleum feedstock can be fed into the FCCU 3, (b) at least one C4-hydrocarbons preparation unit 6 producing a second hydrocarbon stream 2 comprising an oxygenate, wherein the reactor system is arranged such that the second hydrocarbon stream 2 can be passed from the at least one C4-hydrocarbons preparation unit 6 to the at least one FCCU 3. In a third aspect, the present invention relates to use of a process or reactor system according to any one of the preceding claims for producing one or more hydrocarbon product streams 4. Thus, the process, reactor system and use according to the present invention provide for the conversion of an acetone rich naphtha stream to olefins and, thus, for reducing the negative impact of acetone on the chemical grade naphtha specifications while at the same time reaction conditions efficient for both oxygenate-to-olefin conversions and fluid catalytic cracking are provided.

    Corrosion inhibitor compositions and methods for inhibiting corrosion on a metal surface exposed to a hydrocarbon fluid are provided. The corrosion inhibition compositions can include a corrosion inhibitor, such as 3-dimethylamino benzoic acid, 4-dimethylamino benzoic acid, or 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid. The corrosion inhibitor composition can further comprise dimethyl sulfoxide, and heavy aromatic naphtha. The corrosion inhibitor composition can be phosphate-free and can inhibit naphthenic acid corrosion. In the methods, a corrosion inhibitor composition is added to the hydrocarbon fluid exposed to the metal surface to prevent or inhibit corrosion on the metal surface, including naphthenic acid corrosion.
