    The present invention discloses thermally stable free thiophene croconaine dyes of formula (I), where R1-R4 are 1-20C alkyl or alkenyl groups, and their even more thermally stable complexes with anthracenyl-tetralactam macro molecules, wherein the thiophene croconaine dyes are permanently interlocked. The dyes and the complexes are suitable for use in methods of NIR laser welding of plastic materials.

These muds comprise water, an emulsifier, a wetting agent, a weighting material and a neutralised sulphonated thermoplastic polymer. The sulphonated thermoplastic polymers have 5 to 100 milli-equivalents of sulphonate groups per 100 grams of the sulphonated thermoplastic polymer, wherein the sulphonated groups are neutralized with a metallic cation or an amine or ammonium counterion.

    A thermoplastic resin composition which comprises: (A) 45-90% by weight of a rubber-modified thermoplastic styrene resin in which the grafting degree is 40-150% by weight based on the weight of the rubbery polymer, (B) 9.5-54.5% by weight of an aromatic polyester having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.1-2 dl/g as measured at 25°C in o-chlorophenol, and (C) 0.1-20% by weight of a graft copolymer obtained by graft-copolymerizing a monomer mixture consisting of 60-80% by weight of an aromatic alkenyl compound and 20-40% by weight of an alkenyl cyanide compound on a copolymer consisting essentially of an olefin unit and an epoxy group-containing unsaturated compound unit, and (D) optionally a silicone lubricant in a proportion of 5-20,000 ppm of the total weight of the (A), (B) and (C) components. Said thermoplastic resin composition can be prepared by previously mixing a part or the whole of the (B) component, a part or the whole of the (C) component and 0-20% by weight of the (A) component, and then mixing the resulting mixture with the remaining component or components.

    The present invention relates to a flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition comprising the following components (A) to (D): (A) 50 to 80 parts by weight of an aromatic polycarbonate resin; (B) 5 to 40 parts by weight of a rubber-reinforced thermoplastic resin prepared by graft-polymerizing monomer components comprising an aromatic vinyl monomer, a vinylcyanide monomer and optionally other copolymerizable vinyl-based monomers, with a rubber polymer, the amount of said vinylcyanide monomer used being not less than 0.5 % by weight and less than 5 % by weight based on the total weight of said monomer components; (C) 5 to 30 parts by weight of phosphate represented by the formula (I): wherein R1 to R3 are the same or different and are independently an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms; and n is 0 or 1,    the total amount of the (A), (B) and (C) components being 100 parts by weight; and (D) 0.02 to 3 parts by weight of polytetrafluoroethylene based on the total weight of the (A), (B) and (C) components.

    Provided is a method for recycling a styrenic resin extruded foam. The method includes extrusion-foaming a styrenic resin containing 1 to 75% by weight of a recycled styrenic resin that has been reduced in volume by thermal shrinking and/or thermal melting of a styrenic resin foam and a foaming agent to yield a styrenic resin extruded foam. The styrenic resin extruded foam contains an aliphatic bromine-containing polymer as a flame retardant and further contains an epoxy compound (a) in an amount of 4 to 20 parts by weight, a polyhydric alcohol partial ester (b) in an amount of 0 to 20 parts by weight, a phenolic stabilizer (c) in an amount of 4 to 20 parts by weight, and a phosphite stabilizer (d) in an amount of 0 to 0.9 parts by weight, relative to 100 parts by weight of the flame retardant, as stabilizers.
