  Simple secondary aliphatic amines react with isatin to yield, depending on the structure, either 2-amino-phenylglyoxamides, such as 2-amino-N,N-dimethyl-phenylglyoxamide, or dialkylammonium salts of 2-aminophenylglyoxylic acids.
