The multicomponent reaction between secondary phosphanes R 2 PH (R = Ph, arylalkyl, hetarylalkyl), elemental sulfur, selenium, and primary, secondary, or tertiary amines to afford the corresponding mono-, di-, and trialkylammonium thioselenophosphinates has been discovered.
