    Synthetic methods for the preparation of alpha,omega-alkanebis(sulfonylfluorides) and their electrochemical fluorination (ECF) are described in detail. Factors affecting the yield of the perfluoro-alpha,omega-alkanebis(sulfonylfluorides) are also discussed. Spectral data (C-13 and F-19 NMR and mass spectra) and other hitherto unknown physical properties of difluoromethanebis(sulfonylfluoride) (1), 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane-1,2-bis(sulfonylfluoride) (2) and 1,1,2,2,3,3-hexafluoropropane-1,3-bis(sulfonylfluoride) (3) are measured and compared.
