  An amide derivative represented by the following formula (1): wherein R1 represents a C1-40 hydrocarbon; R2 represents a C1-6 alkylene; R3 represents H, OH or alkoxyl; R4 represents a C1-39 hydrocarbon; R5 represents or -O-R10-R11, with the proviso that when R5 represents or -O-R10-R11, R3 does not represent OH; and a composition of the amide derivative for topical application to human skin.
