6-APA derivatives were considered as selective labels for the construction of bifunctional linkers dedicated to the oriented immobilization of proteins on materials. Sulbactam-like compounds (i.e., 6-β-sulfonamido-penam sulfones) and penicillin G—like compounds (i.e., para-substituted 6-β-phenylacetamido-penams) were prepared and tested as irreversible inhibitors of representative β-lactamases and
Zn/CuI-Mediated Coupling of Alkyl Halides with Vinyl Sulfones, Vinyl Sulfonates, and Vinyl Sulfonamides

A novel high-yielding Zn/CuI-mediated coupling method of alkylhalides with vinyl sulfones, vinyl sulfonates, and vinyl sulfonamides is described. This protocol is applicable for primary, secondary, and tertiary alkyl iodides and bromides. Alkyl chlorides and aryl and vinyl halides were unreactive under the reaction conditions. Formamide was found to be a superior solvent for obtaining high yields

Herein we report a mild, facile method for the preparation of 1,4-keto-sulfonates and sulfones on water. Further synthetic manipulations can result in products that are not readily accessed by hydroacylation of electron rich alkenes.

which contributed to the initial rate enhancement, while the latter indicates the aggregation of the polymer molecules owing to their strong hydrophobic character. The solvolysisrates, kp, for polymeric sulfonic esters were much greater than those, km, for monomeric analogs in all cases except isopropyl and n-butyl esters in 20% aqueous acetone. The relative rate (kp/km) increased with an increase
Styrylsulfonates and -Sulfonamides through Pd-Catalysed Matsuda-Heck Reactions of Vinylsulfonic Acid Derivatives and Arenediazonium Salts

Arene diazonium salts undergo Matsuda–Heck reactions with vinylsulfonates and -sulfonamides to give styrylsulfonic acid derivatives in high to excellent yields and with high to excellent selectivities. By quantifying the evolution of nitrogen over time in a gas-meter apparatus, the reactivities of ethylvinylsulfonate and the benchmark olefin methyl acrylate were compared for an electron-rich and an
