Triphenylantimony reacts with dialkyl (or alkylenyl) dithiophosphoric acids in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratio to form complexes of the types of the types Ph(3-n)Sb(S2P(OR)(2)](n) and Ph(3-n)Sb[S(2)POGO](n) (R - Pr-n, Pr-i, Bu-i; G = -CMe(2)CMe(2), -CH(2)CM2(e)CH(2)-, -CMe(2)CHMe-, n = 1,2) by the cloavage of antimony-carbon bonds. The complexes are colourless powdery solids, soluble in common organic solvents, monomeric in nature and have been characterized by various physico-chemical and spectroscopic [IR, NMR (H-1, C-13, P-31)] techniques.
