The conjugate addition of alcohols to α,β-unsaturated alkynic acidesters proceeds under neutral conditions in the presence of a catalytic amount of trialkylphosphine to give the corresponding β-alkoxy-α,β-unsaturated alkenic acidesters in good to excellent yields.
