Dichloromethane (DCM) as a C1 source has been discovered: methylene diesters from DCM and carboxylic acids or aldehydes with TBHP in water were efficiently synthesized. The reactions proceed under mild conditions and afford both aliphatic and aromatic methylene diesters in good to excellent yields (up to >99%). 2-Chloroethyl benzoates and 3-chloropropyl benzoates are easily obtained in the same way from 1,2-dichloroethane and 1,3-dichloropropane, respectively, in good to excellent yields.

The fluoride catalyzed reaction between acyl fluorides and monomeric formaldehyde affords fluoromethyl carboxylates in acceptable yields. - Fluoromethyl fluoroformate, readily accessible from the corresponding dichloro compound, condenses with amines to give fluoromethyl carbamates.

The present invention relates to polyoxazolidinone compounds, a method for the production of polyoxazolidinone compounds, comprising the step of reacting a biscarbamate compound with a bisepoxide compound in the presence of a mono-carbamate, a mono-isocyanate and/or a mono-epoxide compound as chain regulator and a suitable base having a pKb value of ≤9 as catalyst. The invention further relates to the use of polyoxazolidinone compounds with high thermal stability.

Provide is a cellulose acylate film, of which the environmental humidity-dependent retardation change is small and which, when stuck to a polarizer and used in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, is effective for preventing the polarizing element from being deteriorated. A cellulose acylate film, which contains a hydrogen-bonding compound satisfying the following requirements (A) to (C), and at least one hydrophobizing agent selected from a polyalcohol ester-base hydrophobizing agent, a polycondensate ester-base hydrophobizing agent and a carbohydrate derivative-base hydrophobizing agent: (A) the compound has both a hydrogen-bonding donor part and a hydrogen-bonding acceptor part in one molecule, (B) the value computed by dividing the molecular weight of the compound by the total number of the hydrogen-bonding donor number and the hydrogen-bonding acceptor number in the compound is from 30 to 65, and (C) the total number of the aromatic ring structures in the compound is from 1 to 3.
