Herein we describe the formation, synthesis and characterization of four potential impurities, namely, N-acetyl Oxcarbazepine, N-formyl Oxcarbazepine, N-carbamoyl Oxcarbazepine, and Oxcarbazepine dimer. These impurities are listed in several Pharmacopoeias and the control of these impurities below the threshold level
