                                    We report here the synthesis of a novel mirror-image nucleoside monomer, as well as its oligonucleotides, containing 2′-OMe modification. Incorporation of 2′-OMe into l-nucleic acids greatly enhances the thermal and structural stability, as shown by UV melting data and crystallographic structures. This modified nucleic acid with unusual chirality provides a useful strategy for future biochemical investigations
