Two series of fluorine-containing fluorenyl anthracenes linked by a rigid sp3-hybridized carbon atom have been synthesized and characterized. The effect of a fluorine auxochrome at different positions in fluorene moiety on bulk properties, such as photophysical, electrochemical properties and thermal stabilities were investigated.
