Burkitt’s lymphoma (BL) is a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in which the cancer starts in the immune B-cells. Tetrakis(9-anthryl) substituted porphyrin 1 was synthesized. In the presence of TFA, the porphyrin moiety was protonated to form dication which, upon excitation, accepts an electron from the anthryl moiety to yield an emissive CT state.
