Enantiomerically enriched allyl halides are rare due to their configurational lability. Here we report stable piperidine-based allylchloride enantiomers. These allylchlorides can be produced via kinetic resolution, and undergo highly enantiospecific catalyst-free substitution reactions with C, N, O and S-based nucleophiles.
