The asymmetric synthesis of cis-substituted cyclopropanecarboxylic acid derivatives is achieved via stereoselective electrophilic methylene transfer to Z-α,β-unsaturated acyl ligands bound to the iron chiral auxiliary [(η5-C5H5Fe(CO)(PPh3)].
