On the direct asymmetric reductive amination of aliphatic ketones to primary amines: By using Ru‐Binaphane as catalyst and NH4I as the amine source, it is possible to aminate prochiral aliphatic ketones with moderate ee values up to 74 %.
A highly efficient Ru catalyst based on an achiral, very simple, and inexpensive amino alcohol ligand (2‐amino‐2‐methylpropan‐1‐ol) has been developed for the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation (ATH) of chiralN‐(tert‐butylsulfinyl)imines. Enantioselectiveacylation/kinetic resolution of racemicamines has been achieved by using a chiral benzimidazolide, namely, (S)-1-benzoyl-2-(α-acetoxyethyl)benzimidazole 2. This nonenzymatic acylating reagent requires mild reaction conditions and proceeds with good enantioselectivity.
