An additive for water-base drilling fluid compositions used for drilling subterranean wells is disclosed. In one embodiment, the additive is a sulfonated copolymer of recurring units of a maleimide monomer and recurring units of a vinyl monomer. In another embodiment, the additive is a sulfonated terpolymer of recurring units of a maleimide monomer, recurring units of a vinyl monomer, and recurring units of a carboxyl-containing monomer. Water-base drilling fluids compositions which contain the additive and a process for drilling subterranean wells therewith are also disclosed.
A heat resistant copolymer composition is provided by blending two kinds of copolymers one of which is obtainable by polymerizing a maleimide monomer (A), an aromatic vinyl monomer (B), and unsaturated nitrile monomer (C) and optionally at least one other comonomer copolymerizable therewith (D) in a specific monomer ratio in the presence or absence of an elastomeric polymer and which has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.3 to 1.2 dl/g, and another of which is obtainable by copolymerizing the aromatic vinyl monomer (B), the unsaturated nitrile (C) and optionally at least one other comonomer copolymerizable therewith (D) in a specific monomer ratio in the presence or absence of the elastomeric polymer and which has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.3 to 1.5 dl/g.
A thermoplastic resin composition comprising:
(A) a polymer selected from the group consisting of a conjugated diene rubber-reinforced resin and a non-conjugated diene rubber-reinforced resin and
(B) a graft copolymer which is obtainable by polymerizing
(b-1) at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of aromatic vinyl compounds, cyanated vinyl compounds and alkyl unsaturated carboxylates and
(b-2) at least one unsaturated epoxy monomer in the presence of an ethylene-α-olefin base rubber, which gives a delustered molded article having improved weather resistance and impact resistance.
Reactions of N-arylmaleimides with 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole and 2-aminobenzimidazole

AbstractThe reaction of 3‐amino‐1,2,4‐triazole (1) with N‐arylmaleimides leads to azolopyrimidines 4 and 5. The 2‐aminobenzimidazole (2) in the reaction with 3 gives the pyrimidobenzimidazoles 6. In similar conditions, the reaction of amine 2 with maleic anhydride (7) leads to formation of 2‐oxo‐1,2,3,4‐tetrahydropyrimido[1,2‐a]benzimidazole‐4‐carboxylic acid (8). The structures of 4, 5, 6, and 8 were proved by X‐Ray and NOE NMR measurements. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2011)
