  DMF (N,N-dimethylformamide)/KOH was found to be an efficient hydrogen source in the Pd(OAc)2-catalyzed transfer semihydrogenation of various functionalized internal alkynes to afford cis-alkenes in good to high yields with excellent chemo- and stereoselectivity.
