Provided is a Michael addition product prepared from a multifunctional acryl monomer having multiple hydroxyl groups allowing introduction of acryl functional groups, as a Michael acceptor, and a Michael donor. The Michael addition product is a novel multifunctional compound having an oligomer and a photoinitiator moiety in the molecule. Since it can be cured under a standard UV curing condition without having to add a photoinitiator, it is reduced to air pollution or health problem. Therefore the superior physical properties were obtained by cured coatings without surface tackiness. In addition, its hydroxyl groups allow, through isocyanate bonding or introduction of acryl groups, 3-dimensional crosslinking and molecular and compositional design for improving expandability, friction, and reactivity and hydrophilicity for self-adhesion, hardness of cured film, or the like. Consequently, a very useful, multifunctional or water-dispersible coating composition may be prepared.
There is disclosed a primer composition comprising A] a reaction product of:
(1) a hydroxyl group-containing organic compound composed of;
(a) an epoxy group-containing alcohol represented by the general formula [I]:
wherein, R1 is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms, or an organic group in which the same or different hydrocarbon groups are bonded to each other by an ether bond or an ester bond; and each of mand n is a value of 1 or more; and
(b) a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylate represented by the formula [II]:
wherein R2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R3 is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group, or a group in which the same or different hydrocarbon groups are bonded to each other by ether bond or the ester bond, the R3 being a-valent and having at least one hydroxyl group; and a is an integer of 1 to 3; an amount of active hydrogen atoms included in the aforesaid (a) being 25 to 75% with respect to the total amount of active hydrogen atoms included in the aforesaid (1), and
(2) a polyisocyanate including 70 to 100% of the theoretical amount of isocyanato groups which will react with the total amount of the active hydrogen atoms included in the aforesaid (1);
[B] an amino group-containing alkoxysilane or its partially hydrolyzed condensate having 0.5 to 1.5 amino active hydrogen atoms per epoxy group included in the aforesaid (1)(a); and
[C] a diluent.
The present invention is to improve a thermosetting composition which contains a polymer having a half-esterified acid anhydride group, thus enhancing water and weather resistance. The thermosetting resin composition comprises
(I) a compound having an epoxy group and a hydroxy group, and
(II) a copolymer prepared from a radically polymerizable monomer having an acid anhydride group and a copolymerizable monomer, of which said acid anhydride group is substantially completely half-esterified.
