  Ausgehend vom 2,7-Dibrom-fluoren-9-carbonsäure-methylester wurde das 4, 11-Dibrom-fluoranthen synthetisch aufgebaut. Dieses ist identisch mit dem durch Bromieren von Fluoranthen erhaltenen, bei 205° schmelzenden Dibrom-fluoranthen.
