Provided is a method for manufacturing a polymer having a desired strain, said method comprising: a step for polymerizing one or more kinds of starting monomers by irradiating with ultraviolet rays having such an illuminance as to generate the desired strain; and, if required, a step for measuring the strain of the polymers thus formed and selecting a polymer having the desired strain. In one embodiment, provided is a method for determining the illuminance of ultraviolet rays for manufacturing a polymer having a desired strain.
