A novel palladium-catalyzed interannular selective C-H silylation of 1,1'-biaryl-2-acetamides is described. The combination of palladium catalyst with copper oxidant enables meta- or ortho-selective C-H silylation by employing hexamethyldisilane as a trimethylsilyl source, which relies on the control of NBE derivatives as a switch, thus providing straightforward access to divergent silicon-containing 1,1'-biaryl-2-acetamides.

A transition-metal-free direct electrolytic C−H amination involving an electrochemically generated nitrenium ion intermediate has been developed. The electrosynthesis takes place in the absence of any organoiodine catalysts and is enabled by an in situ generated electrolyte. A novel, efficient intramolecular and intermolecular C−H amination has been demonstrated using a simple reaction setup.
The palladium-catalysed direct arylation of acetanilides by using C-H activation methodology has been demonstrated. Several acetanilides were coupled with aryl iodides in the presence of 10 mol% of Pd(OAc)2, 1·0 equiv of Cu(OTf)2, and 0·6 equiv of Ag2O to afford the corresponding products in moderate to excellent yields. The results showed that the amount of Ag2O was important for this protocol.
