Effects of boric acid on the formation of the Schiff base from salicylaldehyde and 2-methoxyethylamine (or glycinate) were examined in aqueous solution. From the formation constants in the absence and presence of boric acid, the equilibrium constants for the borate-Schiff base complexation were determined.
