Knoevenagel condensation between aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile, barbituric acid or 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid with ethane-1,2-diammonium hydrogen sulfate (EDAHS) in aqueous micellar media, using sodium dodecyl sulfate is described.
