Condensation reactions of o-hydroxy- and o-mercaptoanilines, and o-phenylenediamine with (benzotriazol-1-yl)acetic acid result in (1,3-benzazol-2-yl)(benzotriazol-1-yl)methanes. Cycloaddition of sodium azide to (benzotriazol-1-yl)acetonitrile leads to (1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-yl)(benzotriazol-1-yl)methane.
