An efficient practical homocoupling reaction of sodium arylsulfinate promoted by Cu(II) is reported whereby symmetricaldiaryl sulfone derivatives are obtained with high selectivity and reactivity by intermolecular cross-coupling. This homocoupling reaction is tolerant to many functional groups and proceeds under mild conditions.
The object of the present invention is to provide a polyimide compound useful as a raw material of a polymer for an optical waveguide that has excellent transparency and heat resistance, low moisture absorption, a small optical transmission loss, a high refractive index and good adhesion to a base material or a substrate. The present invention is inventions of a method for producing a deuterated polyamic acid compound represented by the general formula [2]:

SO(2) efficient: A three‐component palladium‐catalyzed coupling of aryl lithium compounds; sulfurdioxide (provided by the easy‐to‐handle solid surrogate, DABSO); and aryl, heteroaryl, and alkenyl (pseudo)halides yields a diverse library of sulfones.
