research to explore the applied potential of DMF‐likeionicliquid, the ionicliquid version of N,N‐dimethyliminiumchloride (Vilsmierreagent) has been synthesized from DMF‐likeionicliquid and tested effectively for its capacity to achieve more useful organic transformations. The results show that DMF‐likeionicliquid is world's first task specific ionicliquid which has catalyzed numerous diverse type

Abstract An efficient and mild method for the direct conversion of alcohols into N-alkylphthalimides using 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine and dimethylformamide was described. The reaction was preceded via (alcoxymethylene) dimethylammonium chloride intermediate and produced corresponding N-alkylphthalimides in good-to-excellent yields.
We herein report a convenient method to convert olefins to organic iodides and amines using an Ir/ZhaoPhos catalyst, molecularhydrogen, and an electrophilic iodine(I) reagent. High yields and regioselectivities were obtained under mild conditions. In addition, basic workup with potassium carbonate leads to C–N products. Control experiments and DFT calculations tentatively excluded the pathway involving

Mitsunobu products can be isolated pure without column chromatography by first washing a solution of the crude reaction mixture in dichloromethane with 15% aqueous hydrogen peroxide followed by aqueous sodium sulfite. A final filtration through silica gel secures the pure Mitsunobu product. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
