A facile method for the synthesis of trisubstitutedallenynes has been developed. The process involves phosphane-mediateddeoxygenation of 2,4-pentadiyn-1-ol derivatives. A variety of propargyl alcohols can be transformed into allenynes in moderate to good yields under mild reaction conditions.
