  Allylic sulfamides undergo aerobic oxidative cyclization at room temperature, mediated by a Pd(O2CCF3)2/DMSO catalyst system in tetrahydrofuran. The cyclic sulfamide products are readily converted into 1,2‐diamines, and substrates derived from chiral allylic amines cyclize with very high diastereoselectivity.

  The rearrangement of a range of N-benzyl-O-allylhydroxylamines to the corresponding N-allylhydroxylamines upon treatment with n-BuLi in THF, followed by reduction to the corresponding N-allylamines, is described. Mechanistic studies of the transformation are consistent with an intramolecular [2,3] sigmatropic rearrangement.

  Allylic substitution reactions catalyzed by Pd- or Pt-Yliphos complexes are examined. The reaction of 1,3-diphenyl-2-propenyl acetate with benzylamine proceeded in the presence of Pd(dba)(2)-Yliphos to give N-benzyl-1,3-diphenyl-2-propenylamine in high yields with high enantioselectivities (up to 90% ee). Furthermore, the allylic alkylation of 1,3-diphenyl-2-propenyl acetate with dimethyl malonate catalyzed by Pd-Yliphos complex resulted in high enantioselectivity (95% ee) in the presence of LiH as base.
