The reactions of carbanions of bis(dialkoxyphosphoryl)bromomethanes with fullerenes C-60 and C-70 afforded new bis(dialkoxyphosphoryl)methanofullerenes C-60 and C-70, respectively, whose structures were established by spectroscopic methods.

A novel C-60 organophosphonate derivative, tetraethyl methano[60]fullerenediphosphonate 2, was synthesized by the reaction of C-60 With tetraethyl methylenediphosphonate 1 in the presence of I-2 and Nail.
