Several investigated compounds displayed strong antiproliferative activity against K562 leukemia cells and proved to be strong inhibitors of tubulin polymerization. In this context, anthracenone-based oxime ethers and -esters are considered to contribute to the development of novel antiproliferative drugs, based on tubulin interaction.
